Merryn has many years experience styling Women
of all ages and sizes.
In her late 20’s she was employed by Fashion Designer Karen Walker to manage her New Market store in Auckland. This role included dressing the who’s who of the NZ celebrity scene as well as international guests and stylish locals. Merryn also assisted Karen in hosting VIP shopping evenings in store and working back stage preparing models for runway shows. It was through this time working with Karen that Merryn fell in love with designer fashion and realised that styling someone else was more fulfilling than styling herself.
Merryn then went on to work for Vicki Taylor, Creative Director and owner of Taylor Boutique, The Shelter Boutique and luxury fashion label Symetria. During the 3 1/2 years that Merryn managed 2 of Vicki’s boutiques she was immersed in the entire design process due to the company workroom being so close. She gained strong knowledge in fabrics, garment care, body shapes, tailoring, store merchandising and window display. Vicki and Merryn styled TV presenters, actors, celebrities and NZ’s most fashionable Women.
"The most beautiful thing that a Woman can wear is confidence."
Merryn left the Auckland retail world to move to Australia with her young family. After owning and running an online Speakers Bureau in Melbourne with her husband, she decided it was time to re discover her love of fashion, design and creativity. In 2018 Merryn enrolled with the Australian Style Institute in Melbourne and completed training in Personal and Fashion Editorial Styling.
Merryn is now based near Geelong in Victoria and is collaborating with photographers, models and local talents to create photoshoots and editorial work. Her styling work has been published in the May 2019 Living Bliss Magazine.
Every woman wants to look good and feel great. But sometimes life can be hectic and we often put ourselves last before children, work and family commitments.
As a Stylist I’m passionate about encouraging women to take time out for themselves, to rediscover their sense of style and learn how to navigate clothes shopping so that it can be a fun experience. I also believe you don’t need to spend a fortune to achieve great style and that quality over quantity is the way to go when it comes to curating an enduring wardrobe.
Ultimately, the outcome of a Personal Styling session for my clients is elevated self confidence and the skills to be able to dress or shop for any occasion or event. “The world is your runway, walk with pride.”
